Submission Guidelines

Guidelines & Policies

1. Format of Initial or Intermediate Contributions

The main document, including manuscript text and tables, should be prepared in Han-Geul Word (hwp), Microsoft Word, or PDF format in English. The manuscript should be written in 10-point Times New Roman with double line spacing on A4-sized paper (21.0 x 29.7 cm) with 3.85 cm top and bottom margins and 3.0 cm right and left margins. The standard order of sections is: title page, abstract, introduction, system model and methods, results, discussion, acknowledgments, references, figure legends, and table legends. Variations may be allowed. Number all pages starting with the title page as page 1.

2. Title Page

The title page should include a full title, a running title (no more than 40 characters), and authors' information. The title should be concise but informative enough to facilitate information retrieval. Author information (name, affiliation, address, e-mail) should be provided. Any financial disclosure or support (grant number, institution, location, acknowledgement) and presentation history at a meeting should be included if relevant.

3. Abstract & Keywords

The abstract should be self-contained (no footnotes). It should concisely state what was done, how it was done, the principal results, and their significance. It should be around 150 words, written as one paragraph, and should not contain displayed mathematical equations, tabular material, or numbered references. At the end of the abstract, provide 3 to 5 keywords separated by commas.

4. Text

Please ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list (and vice versa). Any references cited in the abstract must be given in full. Unpublished results and personal communications are not recommended for publication.

5. References

Use APA (American Psychological Association) style. References should be arranged alphabetically and then chronologically if necessary. More than one reference from the same author(s) in the same year must be identified by the letters 'a', 'b', 'c', etc., placed after the year of publication.

6. Artwork

All artwork submitted (line drawings, halftones, photos, photomicrographs, etc.) should be clean originals or digital files. Digital files are recommended for highest-quality reproduction and should follow these guidelines:

  • 300 dpi or higher
  • Sized to fit on the journal page
  • EPS, TIFF, or PSD format only
  • Submitted as separate files, not embedded in text files

Color art will be reproduced in color in the online publication at no additional cost. For print, the author bears the full cost: $900 for the first page of color and $450 per page for the next three pages. Art not supplied at a minimum of 300 dpi will not be considered for print.

7. Tables and Figure Legends

A short descriptive title should appear above each table with a clear legend and footnotes identified below. All units must be included. Figures should be completely labeled, taking necessary size reduction into account. Captions should be typed double-spaced on a separate sheet.

8. Format of Final Contributions

Upon acceptance of an article, the authors are asked to submit the final manuscript. The final manuscript may be prepared using Han-Geul Word or Microsoft Word.

9. Author-Supplied Electronic Graphics

The preferred file type is vector drawing such as EPS or WMF. If bitmap format is used, the preferred format is TIF at a resolution of at least 300 dpi for color photos and at least 900 dpi for line art, with a minimum width of 100 mm (4 inches). Figures should contain only the image and not the caption.

10. Page Proofs

Page proofs are sent to the corresponding author and should be returned by fax, preferably within 2 business days.

11. Submission

Submission to CSHR proceeds entirely online at https://cshr.jams.or.kr, where you will be guided stepwise through the creation and uploading of your files. All articles must comply with these instructions; failure to do so will result in return of the manuscript and possible delay in publication.
